Personality Traits Shared by Bullies and Victims

a mugs

A very interesting study from Brandon University in Manitoba has recently hit my inbox. Its title:

The personality traits of workplace bullies are often shared by their victims: Is there a dark side to victims?

Researchers conducted a personality analysis on 224 Canadian university students, all of whom had some work experience. Interestingly, both victims and bullies demonstrated positive scores on the scales of Machiavellianism, narcissism, psychoticism and aggression.

The majority of bullies (89.7%) reported that they had also been victims at least once per week over the past six months, and 41.7% of victims said that they had been bullies in the same time period.

i have been bullied at work A LOT lately and I don’t like to label myself a victim – I have definitely been a target – but i am fighting back. It’s a very interesting phenomenon. I have been wondering what could be going on in this person’s life that is so terrible to make her so ugly.
